Our Story

The Nip’s namesake is not what you’d think, given her two lady owners. The phrase “Nip N Tuck” was actually a term during prohibition, when men would conceal flasks in the inner breast pocket of their coats. The act of discretely taking out the flask, taking a quick sip and tucking it back away was called a “nip ‘n’ tuck”.

The Nip’s location has been a bar for 70+ years and has been operating as The Nip N Tuck since 1964. Jaime first bought into the bar in 2001 when she was just 22 years old. Her first order of business was to hire a new bartender, and that was when she first met her now business partner, Chris, who bought into the Nip in March of 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic. Yep. The two have been close friends for nearly 20 years and are now continuing their shenanigans in business.
